Who is considered a permanent resident abroad
As a permanent resident abroad, you are considered a person who has their main and permanent establishment abroad for at least 10 consecutive years. This period is calculated on a case-by-case basis, e.g. from birth for those born and residing abroad or from the date of departure from Cyprus.
This status can be lost if the person permanently settles in Cyprus or remains in Cyprus for a period exceeding 12 months.
Reduced military service for repatriates
Permanent residents abroad returning to Cyprus are entitled to a reduced military service, depending on their age on arrival:
The ranking must be done within two years of arrival in Cyprus.

Upon establishing residency in Cyprus, the interested party:
