Employment and professional reintegration

    A 50%% tax exemption on income tax for 17 years on employment in Cyprus, provided that the individual was not a tax resident nor employed in Cyprus for 15 years and annual earnings exceed €55,000.
  • 20% Exemption (Article 8(21)A(in force)
    Income tax exemption (%) of up to €8,550 for 7 years on first employment in Cyprus, provided there was no employment in Cyprus in the last 15 years and there was employment abroad for at least 3 years.
  • 25% Exemption (Article 8(21B) – effective for employment or engagement in business
    starting within the period 01/01/2025 – 31/12/2030 – Minds Action Plan

    for 7 years, provided that the person was not a tax resident of Cyprus for the last

    full-time employment abroad with a foreign employer for at least 36 months within
    of the last 84 months, or

Developing Digital Skills for the Labour Market

What do you need to know
Enhancing digital skills is a key pillar of Cyprus's digital policy. Through the National Action Plan for Digital Skills, you can enrol in training programmes that meet the needs of the labour market and help you reintegrate professionally.

The training courses cover different levels of knowledge, subject areas and are aimed at employees, the unemployed and the general public. The project is co-financed by the EU's Recovery and Resilience Facility, as part of Cyprus's Recovery and Resilience Plan.

What do you need to do?

Step 1:
Log in to the Productivity Centre platform and view the available training sessions:

Step 2:
Alternatively, log in to the ANAD platform and create your own account on the HERMES system:
 ermis.anad.org.cy

Step 3:
Choose the programme that suits your interests, needs or professional profile.

Step 4:
Apply online to participate – most digital trainings are offered free of charge until June 2026.

Step 5:
Attend the training and obtain a recognised certificate of participation.

RECOGNITION BY THE COUNCIL FOR THE RECOGNITION OF HIGHER EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS (KY.S.A.T.S.)

  1. What is KY.S.A.TS.

KYSATS is the competent authority of the Republic of Cyprus for the recognition of higher education qualifications, awarded by recognized institutions of higher education or by evaluated-accredited study programmes by the competent authorities of the country they operate or offered in.

Please note that professional issues are not under the responsibility of KYSATS. For professional matters please contact the relevant professional body/employer. If academic recognition is required, the procedure for submitting an application is as follows:

What you need to do

 

STEP 1

Go to the KY.S.A.T.Z. website in the category Application Process – Forms, and print out the form «Application for the recognition of degrees».

Applicants should be aware in advance of the type of recognition required (recognition of equivalence or recognition of equivalence and matching), following consultation with the relevant professional body to which they will apply for employment.

 

STEP 2

Fill in and sign the application form, according to the instructions.

On page 2 - point e (other information), be advised that you should mention that the application is submitted for the purpose of MINDS IN CYPRUS.

 

STEP 3

Please ensure you have the necessary documents (originals and copies), as listed on page 3 of the application (Supporting Documents), and also on the website, under the section Application Procedure – General Information.

STEP 4

Call 22806357 to book an appointment for the submission of your application.

Applications are accepted only on Mondays and Tuesdays, between 8:30 AM and 2:00 PM.

 

STEP 5

KYSATS address is: 56 Strovolos Avenue, 1st  Floor, P.C. 2018 Nicosia.

If the applicant is represented by a third party, a written authorization is required.

 

STEP 6

The fee amount is €85.43 per application and can be paid either in cash or by credit card at the end of the procedure.

 

STEP 7

Should additional documentation be required, the applicant will be informed relatively.

 

STEP 8

When the procedure finishes, the applicant will be notified officially by letter.

 

What else do you need to know

 

  1. A separate application is submitted.for each credential.

 

  • Please note that: For the recognition of a Master’s degree, a first cycle degree recognized by KYSATS, is required

 

  1. CERTIFICATION OF THE DOCUMENTS 

It can be done in one of the following ways:

  • True copies of the documents issued by the awarding institutions.
  • Comparison of the copy with the original by KYSATS officer.

 

  1. TRANLSATIONS

Only documents in Greek or English are accepted otherwise, translations are accepted from:

  • The awarding institution
  • Sworn translators registered in the Registry of Sworn Translators of the Republic of Cyprus
  • The competent Ministry of each country (e.g. Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

 

You are informed that original translations are submitted with the application.
